Carolina Blinds was opened in 1992 when Wayne Patterson opened the first location in his garage. It wasn’t long before he was able to move into a commercial building, where they still stand today. Proudly owned and operated by Wayne in the same spot since 1994, Carolina Blinds has come to be the number one choice in Asheville for window dressings.

What We Do

At Carolina Blinds, you’re not responsible for much. We’ll bring the samples out, we’ll measure everything, order it, and confirm the delivery is correct before we bring it out. And Wayne or one of his trained staff will install it. There are no outside contractors at Carolina Blinds. And from the moment the order goes in, it’s generally less than three weeks before your blinds or shades come in(8 weeks for shutters).

Wayne Patterson

Owner, Sales and Installation

Wayne opened his business in 1992.  Wayne is native to Hendersonville and actively works with his staff and customers at every stage of the custom window treatment process.  Wayne is the expert at conducting in-home estimates and installations.  He is a certified motorization and exterior specialist with Somfy motors.  He has also completed certification in shutter installation training with Hunter Douglas and Norman shutters.  Wayne has over 20 years experience and is very detail oriented to ensure that his customers have the most informed purchasing experience.  Customer satisfaction is his number one priority.

Maria Morris

Sales Consultant and Office Manager                                                              Official Greeter

Maria began her career with Carolina Blinds in 1999 in the blind production department. After mastering blind production and repair she began to work her way up to Sales and Office Work and 2 short years later became the Office Manager.
Maria has a vast knowledge of Window Treatments and continues to enjoy learning of new products, options, and companies on a daily basis. Maria has recently returned to Carolina Blinds after a break from October 2006 to June of 2011 and is extremely happy to be back in her element with the great Staff and Clients at Carolina Blinds!

Rudy Richter

Installer and Repair Technician

Rudy moved to Western North Carolina and has worked with Carolina Blinds since 2005.  He has been a certified installer for over 20 years.  Rudy continually participates in installer education classes to enhance his installation skills.  He is the one to go to for all phases of installation and repair issues.  Rudy is our primary installer as he can professionally install all custom window treatments including draperies and automated shades.  He is also our expert in repairing blinds.  We always say if “Rudy can’t fix it, it probably can’t be fixed.
